On Saturday at Saratoga, sophomore fillies will compete over the inner turf course in the 31st running of the Lake Placid Stakes. With a purse of $300,000 and Grade 2 status, the mile and an eighth contest has drawn a field of six with My Miss Sophia entered for the main track only. 
Even at a tradition-laden racetrack like Saratoga, the Grade II $200,000 Adirondack Stakes for two year-old fillies stands out as one of racing’s timeless jewels as the race has been in existence since 1901. 
Some of the most promising two-year-old fillies in the country are set to compete in the 98th running of the $200,000 Adirondack Stakes on Sunday at Saratoga. The Grade 2 race will be contested at six and a half furlongs on the main track and has drawn a field of seven. 
Sunday’s racing card at Saratoga is highlighted by the 11th running of the $100,000 Waya Stakes. The mile and a half contest will be run on the inner turf course and has drawn a full field of twelve fillies and mares with three waiting in the wings as also-eligibles. 
The Grade I $500,000 Test Stakes August 2 at Saratoga appears to be a wide-open even on paper as 12 fillies are scheduled to contest the seven furlong event on the main track. 
The $100,000 Curlin Stakes July 25 at Saratoga may not be a graded race, but once again features at least one marquee runner when the field of ten heads to post Friday afternoon in New York. 
The 145th Saratoga meet kicks off Friday, July 18 with ten races carded – including the Grade III $150,000 Schuylerville which has been run consecutively since 1918 as a race for two year-old fillies. 
The Iowa Oaks looks to be an intriguing piece of an excellent racing card at Prairie Meadows. 
A field of nine, along with three horses entered for the main track only, will compete on Saturday at Parx Racing in a $25,000 allowance/optional claiming race to be run at one mile on the turf. The race is for three-year-olds and upward, vying for a $46,000 purse.
