Goldstryke Glory tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer Kelly Callaghan. A five-year-old daughter of Second in Command, the dark bay mare has won five of her fifteen career starts and is trying to earn her first graded stakes victory. She is trying to rebound after finishing fifth in the Ontario Fashion (G3) in October and has been training well since that race. Jesse Campbell will remain aboard and they will break from post five.
Executive Allure making first start of the year
Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Executive Allure for trainer Darwin Banach. A four-year-old daughter of Bold Executive, she has won five of her nine starts and will be making her first start of the year. She closed out her sophomore campaign with a win against allowance company and is another contender looking for her first graded stakes victory. Eurico Da Silva will be back aboard and they will break from the outside.
Unspurned to add Lasix for the first time
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Unspurned who will be competing with Lasix for the first time for trainer Roger Attfield. A four-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, she has won three of her eleven starts and has been on the shelf since finishing second against minor stakes company at Woodbine in November. She has been training forwardly for her return and will have Alan Garcia in the irons from post three.
The $1 million Cotillion Stakes September 24 at Parx features a true clash of the titans as the six-horse field is headlined by the undefeated, five-time grade 1 winner Songbird who figures to face the most stern challenge of her career.
In a completely wide open renewal of the Presque Isle Mile September 18 at Presque Isle Downs, 13 runners including the also-eligible will contest the eight furlong trip over synthetic footing.
Champion Songbird is set to make her much-anticipated return to the races in the $200,000 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita on Saturday. The Grade 2 event will be run at a mile and a sixteenth and has attracted a field of seven.
