Imposing Grace has been tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Lars Becdelamotte. A six-year-old daughter of Empire Maker, she has won five of her twenty starts and was a graded stakes winner as a four-year-old. She has one win from three starts this year and was last seen finishing third in the Alachua Handicap. Manoel Cruz will be in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post position five.
Best Behavior trying for first win of the year
Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Best Behavior for trainer Martin Wolfson. A five-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, she has been on the board in twenty of her starts and is a seven time career winner. Winless from five starts this year, she has been on the board in her last two starts against minor stakes competition. Edgard Zayas will be aboard and they will break from post position two as she tries to earn the second stakes win of her career.
Phaniebdancing shooting for first stakes win
Also in the field at 7-2 on the morning line is another Martin Wolfson-trainee, Phaniebdancing. A four-year-old daughter of Congrats, the dark bay filly has won four of her seventeen starts and will be trying to earn the first stakes victory of her career. She is coming out of a runner-up finish in the Alachua Handicap where she was ahead of Imposing Grace. Harry Hernandez will be aboard and they will break from the rail.
The $1 million Cotillion Stakes September 24 at Parx features a true clash of the titans as the six-horse field is headlined by the undefeated, five-time grade 1 winner Songbird who figures to face the most stern challenge of her career.
In a completely wide open renewal of the Presque Isle Mile September 18 at Presque Isle Downs, 13 runners including the also-eligible will contest the eight furlong trip over synthetic footing.
Champion Songbird is set to make her much-anticipated return to the races in the $200,000 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita on Saturday. The Grade 2 event will be run at a mile and a sixteenth and has attracted a field of seven.
